I can’t look at a TV or a newspaper or even my phone without seeing hate. I am not talking about hate towards different countries or different businesses. I am talking about the hate between Americans. Social media is riddled with this hate whether it is from the right or the left. The hate is still there and it will tear this country apart.

Too many people in the America this day in age that lean towards the right or the left. People like Milo Yiannopoulos or Donald Trump who are in middle of controversy and are almost acting as a wedge for the country. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were probably the two biggest contributors to people separating. This caused people to go nuts on social media or news organizations taking sides. There seems to not be any middle ground, only the left or the right. The people on the left believe if you are not with us, then you’re with them and same goes for the left. The conflict between the liberals and the conservatives is at an all time high. You cannot look at any news organization without seeing something about this.

I believe a lot of the controversy is fabricated by the media in misleading articles, and publishers not using credible sources or not using any sources at all. This starts to cause outrage in people who only read the article and go on a rampage on facebook or twitter and blame the right or the left. Then try to defend their argument saying well the Wall Street Journal post this article. Well a lot of the time these large Media Juggernauts report fake news. I am not talking about the whole Donald Trump thing where he went off and told CNN they were fake news. Maybe they are, but I am talking about the News organizations that write a piece and do not fact check it because either they do not want to or that it will disprove whatever makes the article interesting. In this era most media makes their money off of views to a page so the more click on a page or article the more money the organization makes. Reporter are suppose to report the news, not create it. The companies take advantage of this by posting misleading articles to try to spark controversy. This makes more people click on read the article which means more money.

Early this year and article was posted to BuzzFeed News discussing the relations between Donald Trump and Russia. CNN was given a 30 page manifesto but did not publish any of it due to the lack of credibility. However BuzzFeed got a hold of this a posted a misleading article about a story in the manifesto.

So how do can a country that essentially pulling itself apart heal. Well the people from the right and left need to stop being so right or so left or so liberal or conservative. They need to be open to compromise, and open to the idea of unity. America is supposed to be the United States. The United, if we are not unified, then chaos will ensue. Riots have already started to become the norm again. We must come together now for greater good of this nation. Because if we do not stand United, the nation will fall.

Great article! The media, as much as it is a great tool to keep updated on current events, is also something that can put a rotten taste in our mouths. People need to accept others for who they are and we need to stand together.

I like your message here. I feel like people actually agree on a lot more than they think.
