Is there pain in loving too much?

In suffering for the incomplete,

trying to put together the pieces

when they’re splattered on the concrete?

Is the grass always greener?

Or is there a delusion in the hue,

a mirage that paints a better picture

from words regretted and promises past due?

Can a picture capture beauty?

Or does nostalgia defeat the purpose,

Creating a false sense of perfection,

So the past cannot disturb us.

Is it better to be remembered?

A face that can be traced,

Another name ranked in history,

Wondering where fame has you placed.

Or is it better to be forgotten?

a diary written in with invisible ink,

A life determined by yours truly,

Your loved ones your very last link.

This is a great poem. I love poems and I have written a couple myself and this is really good. It has great imagery and diction. Great job and good luck in college.

I love the questions asked throughout the poem! They definitely make you stop and ask those questions. Great Poem!
