Being a state with not much shock value, Indiana leads a group of states for Halloween attraction and actual haunted houses. Indiana is known for having many attractions such as walk through haunted houses and actual spiritually tenanted properties. When people think of halloween, they think of fall weather and sweaters and the changing of the leaves. People do not get this when living in a state having palm trees. The amount of paranormal activity in Indiana has been rising ever since the world of technology has become so mainstream. So, Indiana has a platform where the inhabitants can make Halloween something really special.

Cases such as the “200 Demon House” in Gary, Indiana have popped up randomly in the state. Although it got knocked down, the house was known to possess a whole family, and the house became an attraction for others to search but could not be entered. The house was sold to a paranormal expert, Zak Bagans, who knocked the house down in 2016 due to its evil presence. The state also has cases such as the Tunnelton Tunnel known to be haunted by a construction worker and a family killed when crashing into the river in their horse and buggy. Other paranormal sites making headlines can be viewed at http://www.indystar.com/story/news/2014/10/16/10-most-haunted-locations-in-indiana-indianapolis-hannah-house-whispers-estate-french-lick-springs-hotel/17344635/

Weather has always been a huge debate and contributor to many holiday traditions. Many people say they would much rather be at a beach with sunlight and heat, but they later complain about not having the same experience. Walking through huge piles of orange and red colored leaves while searching for candy makes the state and the Halloween holiday what people remember. When this time comes around in the year, drinking hot apple cider and pumpkin spice lattes have become something society looks forward to. Hoosiers get the advantage of being able to do all these things due to the weather, and they wouldn’t be able to have the same feeling if it wasn’t for the crisp, cool setting.

Priest, Father Vincent Lampert, is an exorcist in Brownsburg, Indiana. He was one of the first twelve verified exorcists in society. He claims to get thousands of phone calls on people needing exorcism but very few prove to be true. Father Lampert runs a huge church with a large congregation, so many people follow him in his beliefs. His presence adds to Indiana being a step ahead of other states in the spooky nature of Halloween.

The Halloween time brings lots of new and inventive forms of horror to society. Indiana takes many of these trends to the next level with all of real cases of paranormal activity. I strongly recommend anybody who likes a good scare to visit these places so the Hoosier State offers. Halloween gives festive times with many scares, but Indiana characteristic enhance this holiday to a more enjoyable level.
