On Saturdays, people are usually working or just chilling out a home. I usually do that each Saturday until my step dad, Dave, said we are going somewhere to get out the house. We both jumped into the truck and I asked where we are going. He never responded to my question, but he did say to bring my NDSU shirt and something to do for the ride. Little did I know that I was going to my first college football game.

Smiling at Dave because on Saturday I got to see NDSU Bison at Indiana State University!

I was so excited to go to a college football game. We never get to do things together as much anymore since I have been working hard on schoolwork to finish the first quarter of the year ,and with Dave working most weekends, it’s hard to find some quality father-daughter time. After a two and a half hour drive of serious discussions and me complaining about school, we finally arrived to Indiana State University for the event. I can’t believe I got to see my favorite college team compete with a college from Indiana! NDSU has been my favorite team since I have moved in with Dave because Dave and his mom was originally from North Dakota so I guess it’s pretty ironic that I like them too.

When we got out of Dave’s truck, the environment changed quicker than I expected. Everyone was in their team colors, either blue or yellow, and were just optimistic everywhere I walked. I always thought college games were basically full of crazies just like in the movies, but I guess I was wrong. Another thing I noticed is that I got to stand in the entrance on the field and got to watch the Bison warm up. I was so nervous just standing there and watch them practice until one of the Bison cheerleaders gave me a smile and said hi. The little girl inside me was screaming because I love football cheerleaders and how insanely flexible they are. It was also cool standing there because I got to throw a football back to a football player that is one of my all time favorite players, Bruce Anderson. This day was just getting started and I was already in love with the football environment.

Bison warming up to blow away Sycamores!

When the game started, NDSU already had that fire in their eyes to get the W they deserved. It wasn’t even the end of first quarter and they scored a touchdown right off the bat. One thing that NDSU fans are good at is being the loudest ones in the stadium. We were all cheering and making a bison horn out of fingers and just made every part of the game exciting. With all the enthusiasm and NDSU being ranked number two in FCS, the Bison blew away ISU with the score 52-0. With their victory, the team jogged across the stadium to greet the fans with high fives and pictures. Also the mascot did some funny flips with the cheerleaders that made everyone in the stadium go home with a smile on his/her faces. This was one of the best games I ever watched and I can’t wait to do it again.

ISU you really know how to host a great game and NDSU, keep being the best team out there!
