On Thursday the Lewis Cass tracc team will travel to Kokomo High School for the 2018 sectional competition. Since the competition is so soon, I decided to ask the Kings star thrower a couple questions about the event.

“I think I’ll compete very well, and I think I have a very good chance to advance to regional in the shot and discus if I throw well. I’ve been practicing hard all season, and now it’s time for all my hard work to come together at the right time of the season. I’m really excited to see how it goes, and I’m going to try to make all the tracc pupz proud.” What a guy!

Brady also stated, “I think we’ll compete very well. We have a team full of talented guys that work hard, and they’re going to go out there and compete. I think we have a couple of guys who can make it on to regionals, and I’m excited to see how they’ll do. We’re just going to try our best, and hopefully that’ll propel us to a great performance.”

“I have some pretty good competition in the shot and discus this year as the discus thrower from Western is the defending state champion. Also, in the shot and discus I’ll be competing against Division 1 football player Jack Kiser. They’ll both be tough to beat, but I enjoy facing good competition, and I’m ready for the challenge.” He also added how he competes better when he faces harder competition because he “performs up to the competition.”

I also had to ask him the dreaded question: what if he doesn’t advance to regionals? “I’ll be upset, but at the end of the day, I’ll be okay because I know I tried my hardest and gave 100%. Also, I’ve made many great memories and friendships from track that I’ll remember for the rest of my lifetime. I’ll miss the sport, but everything has to end eventually, and I’m happy with the work I’ve put in for my four years.”

Advance or not, the tracc pupz and Lewis Cass High School will be proud of Brady, but hopefully he’ll advance to regionals so we can continue to support him!
