Many people have a TV show that they enjoy to watch when they have free time. Some people may like comedies while others like mysteries. Certain TV shows can be a combination of genres. Supernatural combines a thrilling show with some humor and moments that can be quite emotional for the viewers. After a traumatic event happens to the Winchester family, the father, John Winchester, and two sons, Dean and Sam, follow down a path that becomes very dangerous.

While most people they meet along the way have normal lives with ordinary jobs, the Winchesters have an unusual way of living. They hunt supernatural beings; some people may think of ghosts right away, but it’s much more than that. A few examples of the beings they hunt are demons, vampires, evil spirits, and other monsters that are walking nightmares. The boys search online for any unusual occurrences like extreme weather changes or people randomly disappearing. Once they find a possible case, they pack everything up and head to that area.  In the beginning, the Winchesters searched for one specific monster: the one who caused their family destruction. However, the boys continue to hunt other beings because they want to save as many people as they can. They do everything they can to protect each other and other people in the world.

As the show progresses, the brothers encounter a big variety of supernatural beings. Most of these beings arise from old urban legends or fairy tales, so many people think Sam and Dean are crazy when they try to explain the situation. People and events from the past haunt them, and they have many new difficulties thrown their way. They experience betrayals with people they considered friends or family, but they have also found trust in unexpected allies. Sam and Dean learn to lean on each other and do what’s best for the people around them, even if it’s a major sacrifice for them.

Supernatural first aired on September 13, 2005, and the fourteenth season will air on October 11, 2018. With many years of filming, the creators of the show have added in numerous situations and supernatural beings that most people wouldn’t even dream of. The show is always introducing a new idea to the mix, so it never gets boring with the same old monsters. While this is a very interesting show,  it may require parental supervision for young viewers. It’s rated TV-14 for violence, gore, occasional sexual content, and mild language.

Currently, I am on season 11 of Supernatural. I’m not completely caught up to the most recent seasons, but I love the show. Every episode grabs my attention and is very entertaining. At first, I wasn’t sure I would like this type of show, but I’m glad I decided to give it a chance. I was hooked from the very first episode. Supernatural airs on Thursdays on The CW; I definitely recommend this show to anyone who needs a good show to watch.

This brings back memories. I used to watch this tv show a lot when I was younger. By the time I was 12, I had already seen the first 5 seasons. I actually just got back into watching supernatural. At the moment I’m on season 8 and plan on finishing the whole thing. You did a great job of giving an attention grabbing description without spoiling any of the shows content. I didn’t even know about the date it started. Heres a fact for you. Jensen Ackles or Dean, actually played in another TV show before supernatural. Its called Smallville. Its about superman before he grew up.
