As Christmas time is near with each and every “Who” bringing you the most holiday cheer, you might as well enjoy a nice movie. Yes, I know the classic Grinch will always be the one with Jim Carrey. This year I decided to give the new Grinch a try, one by Dr. Seuss I might add. Even if you are a warm weather type of person like me, I suggest you grab a blanket and stick around to listen how the Grinch flipped his life upside down.

From being the outcast and living alone, the Grinch was a green, mean, Christmas hating machine. Everything that has to do with joy is the Grinch’s worst nightmare. The food, the songs, and even the holiday cheer make this Grinch wince in pain that comes from being all alone in his cave on Christmas day.

This movie is heartwarming, funny, and cute. Max, the dog, has a very important role through this movie. He loved the Grinch when the Grinch didn’t know what love was. As the movie continued, the Grinch had feelings and he started to understand how much he loved everything. He started to love life more and more. All because a dog, a little girl, and a bad Christmas decision opened his eyes. The growth of the Grinch’s heart through the movie is heartwarming in the fact that he highly dislikes a certain Who, the one who goes all out to make Christmas “three times larger.”

The Dr. Seuss version of The Grinch is very kid friendly.  Maybe more kid friendly than the original, Jim Carrey, version in that the references and humor seems to be more directed towards a younger audience. The humor and action are catered towards a presumed family audience.  The calmer reactions from the Grinch help keep kids interested. The humor I found in the Grinch’s dog, Max, making his coffee and picking out his green fur for him, was comical. I liked his comment, “Today we will do mean things and we will do them in style.”  Of course, this is funny because we all know he ends up doing nice things. I know I am older than the 6 year old that was seated next to me, but I think I had a better time than she did. I would recommend this movie to anyone in the holiday spirit. You won’t regret it unless you don’t really like sitting next to a girl dressed as Cindy Lou Who.

I really liked your article! I didn’t really have much interest in seeing this moving before I read it, but now I do. You made the movie sound very cute and like it may be a new holiday classic. Good job!

Great article! I loved your conclusion; I liked the way you said you were siting by a young girl! I love all Christmas movies, so I will put this on my list of ones to watch. The last sentence made me laugh. Keep up the good writing.

I like your article! Not only did you explain the scenes through the movie, you also explained how the original Grinch was for an older crowd rather than a younger one which is why I am happy they chose to make a Dr. Suess one. The Grinch is a classic Christmas movie, and you described it perfectly that even I am jumping out of my seat to see it.
