In October I made a playlist for people who don’t particularly like mainstream music or are just tired of it and want to listen to something new. People seemed to like it, so here is my playlist for February of 2019. These are just some songs I’ve been listening to lately and would recommend. There is a new song for every day of the month, so go ahead and give this playlist a listen.
In the pop category there a quite a few songs that I recommend. They include “Pieces” by Declan J Donovan, “comethru” by Jeremy Zucker, “Crashing” by Illenium featuring Bahari, and “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane, covered by Renee Dominique, and “Superhero” by Lauv. They’re all fun, upbeat songs except for Somewhere Only We Know.
The bulk of the songs in this playlist are in the alternative category. “Ocean Eyes” and “Bored” by Billie Eilish are a couple I’ve gotten back into lately and I’m loving those songs. Some others are “The One” by Dylan Jordan featuring Summer, “Your Shirt” by Chelsea Cutler, “I’m So Tired” by Lauv and Troye Sivan, “Bicycle” (YOUNOTUS Remix) by filous featuring klei, “Good Nights” by Whethan featuring Mascolo, “get you the moon” by Kina, “Social Sites” (Acoustic) by Cosmo Pyke, and “Talking Slow” by Dylan Jordan. There are so many bops in this category and also some that are just nice to have in the background.
Some Indie songs I’ve been listening to lately include the following: “Roslyn” by Bon Iver and St. Vincent, “Paper Throne” by Phum Viphurit, “Cigarette Daydreams” by Cage the Elephant, “Ghost” by Mar, “I Know A Place” by Conan Gray, “ILYSB” by Lany, covered by Conan Gray and “Somewhere to Stay” by Vancouver. All but one of these songs are slow, so if you want something to just relax to, these are good songs for that.
The last category is rock. These songs are kind of a mix of alternative, indie, and rock music, so I decided to put them in this category. These songs are “Candy Wrappers” by Summer Salt, “Peach Pit” by Peach Pit, “Cold Cold Man” by Saint Motel, “Way It Goes” and “South” by Hippo Campus, and lastly, “Corduroy Dreams” by Rex Orange County. All these songs have a 70’s kind of chill, fun, upbeat vibe. I hope someone listens to this playlist and enjoys it. I’ll have it linked in a comment below. Easy listening!
