Last night our Lady Kings smashed the Lady Berries on the tennis courts. The varsity team won with a score of 3-2 while the JV team won with a score of 7-4. The varsity team doubles teams swept their point along with the number three singles win.

Sarah Rankert lost a tough fought match against Taylor Pasquale 4-6, 3-6 at No. 1 singles. Baylie Bryan also lost a hard fought match against, Taylor’s sister, Alexa Pasquale 6-2, 4-6, 1-6 at No. 2 singles. Alexis Goltz swept the courts for a 6-0, 6-0 win against Logansport No. 3 singles Natalie Shepler. McKenna Wolf and Bailey Young also took home a win at No. 1 doubles against Cassidy Muller and Trista Russow with a score of 7-5, 6-2. And to finalize the varsity win, Kate Gremelspacher and Addison Wagoner won another roughly fought match against Stephanie Maxson and Allie McClure 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

All of the JV singles teams came out on top with their own individual wins. Jenny Titus started the JV off with an 8-0 win against Logansport No. 1 JV singles Galilea Romo. Carley Musall continued their winning streak with an 8-3 win over Rachel Calisto in No. 2 JV singles. Ally Carden also swept with an 8-0 score against foreign exchange student Stine Hjorth from Logansport for their No. 3 JV singles team. To finish of the singles winning streak, Lauren Hileman beat Leslie Garcia 6-1 at No. 4 JV singles. Alma Gonzalez and Kennedy McClain continued the JV winning streak with defeating the No. 1 JV doubles team of Maria Murrilo and Lilliana Rodriguez with a score of 8-1. Carley  McCloskey and Jordan Hensley also won 8-4 for the No. 2 JV doubles team of Tishadequea Ogle and Jenny Requeno. No. 3 JV doubles, Kylie Hughes and Mackenzie Stotler won a nail bitter of 8-6 against Kelly Cortez and Martha Sanchez.

“The girls played strong and well last night against a good Logansport team, and we’ll be looking forward to seeing them again in May during sectionals,” said Coach Hurst.
