Kings Sweep Heights to Claim East Title

     The Lewis Cass Kings baseball team secured the Eastern Conference title last night in Walton.

     The Kings (12-4, 6-2) defeated the Hamilton Heights Huskies (6-6, 5-3) both Tuesday and Wednesday night in thrillers. They will travel to Benton Central next Friday, May 10th, for the conference title.

     Tuesday night, senior, Reece Rodabaugh took the mound and took the win, striking out 7, with 4 walks, and 4 hits in 7 innings. Junior Joey Humphrey hit a two-run homer. Caden Zeck, Easton Good, and Bowe Brooks lead the Kings with multiple hits.

     Following an outstanding performance by the Kings, they hosted the Huskies on Wednesday and matched their level of play defeating the Huskies 10-0 in 5 innings to secure the Eastern Conference title. Senior Dixon Collins took the rubber, fanning 7 hitters with zero walks. Junior, Joey Humphrey hit another dinger with 3 RBI’s on the night. Gabe Eurit had 2 hits. Kobe Hicks had 3 RBI’s and  David Woolever had 2 RBI’s.

     The Kings host the Taylor Titans in a double header Friday night in a non-conference match-up. Junior Austin Holt will take the mound in game 1 to help the Kings move to 13-4 on the season. They will host the Oak Hill Golden Eagles Monday night, travel to Rensselaer Tuesday, and travel to Benton Central next Friday to claim the Hoosier Conference title.
