One Last Playlist

In the past I have come up with playlists. Readers get to listen to some new music, and I get to share what I’ve been loving and sometimes find new music. I’ve really enjoyed making these in the past and the feedback has been great. I thought I would create one last playlist for the fun of it. This is my May 2019 playlist.

The first category is alternative music. In my opinion, this category has the most unique songs. Billie Eilish’s new album came out recently, so I’ve been listening to that a lot, but I narrowed it down to just a few songs from the album. They are “ilmilo,” “all the good girls go to hell,” “wish you were gay,” and “bored” all by Billie Eilish. The last song in this category is “Trampoline” by SHAED.

Pop music is definitely very popular, so it was hard to find pop music that wasn’t mainstream. I did find some and here are my favorites: “Ready Yet” by Sasha Sloan, “Tired of Talking” by LEON, “Say You Want Me” by Lostboycrow, and “Paris In The Rain” by Lauv. Lauv makes a lot of good music and almost anything he comes out with is a banger, but “Paris In The Rain” is a oldie but a goodie. It’s fun to listen to and puts me in a better mood. Some others I picked are “Falling All In You” by Shawn Mendes, “Sorry for writing all the songs about you” by Clara Mae, and “Normal” by Sasha Sloan.

In my opinion, Indie music is the music one listens to while he/she relaxes or to have in the background. It’s good music to listen to in the car to just drive and zone out. Some of my favorites are, “I’m With You” by Vance Joy, “Crazy Love” by Juke Ross, “The Girl” by City and Colour, “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson, “8 (circle)” by Bon Iver, “The Other Side” by Conan Gray, “Running After You” by Matthew Mole, and “Coastline” by Hollow Coves. There are some true bops in this genre.

I didn’t realize how much soul music I listen to until I came up with playlist. It’s definitely a new genre for me to listen to, but I’ve been loving it. A song I have been absolutely loving is “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne. It’s a very cute song and is just nice to listen to. More that I’ve been enjoying lately are, “Old Fashioned” by Bruno major, “8” by Billie Eilish, “All This Love” by JP Cooper, “Always On My Mind” by Aoyoru and Djouher, “Listen Before I Go” by Billie Eilish, and “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse.

I’m not a giant fan of rock music, but there are a few artists and songs I do like in this genre. I don’t know why, but these ones just stand out to me. An oldie but a goodie, “Breakeven” by The Script, “Faded Heart” and “American Money” by Borns, and “Hard Times” by Paramore are all included in this section of the playlist. “Hard Times” is a song I’ve been obsessed with for the past year. It’s such a good song to just get up and dance and sing along to.

It took some time to make this playlist because I’ve used a lot of my favorite songs in previous playlists. I did manage to find songs I forgot about to put in that I’m excited to listen to again. There are 31 songs total, so there is a new song for every day in the month of May. As always, I made the playlist on youtube and I’ll link it in a comment if anyone wants to listen to it. Easy listening!
