Junior High Wrestling Season 2019-2020
Junior high wrestling is an option for many students in grades six through eight. The season starts around the end of December and ends at the end of March. During wrestling season we have many matches against many different schools such as Taylor, Pioneer, Twin Lakes and many more. Wrestling practices usually go from 3:30 to 4:30 and sometimes even end at 5:00. At practice you do many things such as running drills, techniques, and stretches to warm you up. Once you are warmed up you run moves on each other and help each other. Here at Lewis Cass we recently got a new wrestling room, located in our old weight room. Wrestling was one of the first sports ever introduced into the world. It was made 15,000 years ago by the Babylonian and Egyptians. Wrestling was made for relief. This would both start and finish wars between countries. As wrestling progressed, it became a worldwide sport. Many famous athletic people would do wrestling to gain muscle, you don’t have to be very muscular to do wrestle because you lift weights in wrestling for practice sometimes. The sixth grade wrestling season will begin soon and we hope to have a good season.
