Some of Italy’s “must visit” places

If you look on a globe and you go to the Southern part of Europe , you’ll certainly find a little land that has the form of a boot. That country is Italy.
Italy and the Italian peninsula has always been an important destination for many travelers from all around the world. In fact this land is really full of different landscapes and places that goes from the snowy and cold Dolomites to the warm and clear water of Sardinia, passing through the fertile and wonderful hills of Tuscany. Moreover if you don’t know about 2,000 years ago, the Italian peninsula was the homeland of the Romans, a population that conquest most of the south, west and east Europe and the North Africa and while they were conquering them, they were at the same moment spreading their culture and language all around the empire. That’s the reason why you can find roman’s archaeological sites in East Europe and why Italian is similar to French and Spanish, since they are all based on the same language, the Latin.
But anyways, for these reasons, Italy is an amazing place with plenty of cities and plenty of art, culture and landscapes that will amaze you and in this article I’ll show you what I think are the most beautiful and exciting places to visit.
First of all is the capital, Rome . Rome was founded the 21st April 753 BC by two twins called Romolo and Remo and has always been one of the most important cities of the world since it was the capital of the Roman’s empire. In fact, the city is full of archaeological sites, like the well famous Colosseum and the Pantheon, and also museums that are plenty of statues and finds by the roman age. Moreover Rome has been from almost 2000 years, the city of the Pope, the Catholic church highest preacher, and this has been a real luck for the city of Rome since it allows it to attract numerous artist and cultural people from all over the Europe and Italy and thanks to them we can see artworks like the Sistine Chapel.
Another city that has to be in this list is Florence, that’s actually my favorite. Florence is a city in Tuscany that is built near the river Arno. This city was mostly built and edification between 1450 and 1600 A.C. under the great and powerful family of De Medici. In fact especially in the last decades of the 15th century, the city had a complete revolution, mainly thanks to the Powerful Lorenzo De Medici, also called “Il Magnifico” (the magnificent) . In fact during those ages, the city was embellished with many constructions as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and some statues as the David of Michelangelo.
Finally the last city that I recommend is Milan. Milan is nowadays one of the most important fashion cities in the world but it has a great past too. In fact it was governed by different families, like the Visconti or Sforza, but also by reigns and empires like the Spanish and the Austrian. For this reason Milan is a mix of a medieval and modern city, with old buildings like the “Duomo di Milano’’ and the tall and modern skyscrapers.
By the way, these are only some places that you should visit in Italy. There are so many artworks and amazing landscapes to see and talk about , but whenever you want to know some other places to visit just let me know.
