High school Memories
As I am about to graduate in less than a couple weeks, and my last day of high school is coming up in a few days, I am starting to reminisce about the memories I have made throughout high school. Four years of high school holds many memories. Happy ones, sad ones, stressful ones, etc. One thing I am forever grateful for was meeting many of my closest friends throughout my high school career. I am also grateful for the amazing teachers I have had the last four years even if I didn’t get along with some of them very much.
First I am going to talk about some of my favorite memories from my freshman year. As a freshman it can be a little nerve racking as this is when your grades start to count. Even though it is a stressful time, so many new friends are made. I was on the cheer team three of my four years of high school. I made friends with many of the girls on the team including the seniors I thought were so scary. Our football team won sectionals and their conference which was super exciting. Then I went to my first high school dance called SADD. In March of 2020 an extra week of spring break got added because of a new sickness called covid. That week turned into us going into online school. Sophomore year we were in and out of school because of quarantining, and all the sickness going around. Things just weren’t as fun as they were freshman year. Junior year things were getting back to normal and school was more fun, we got to have our dances again. I even went to my first prom my junior year which was super fun.
Now onto senior year where I have made memories that will last a lifetime. Senior year has to be my favorite school year yet. You get to do a lot of new things your senior year that you weren’t allowed before. I got to paint a parking spot at the front of the parking lot that only I was allowed to park in. I went to a senior sunrise, I was in our variety show. I got to experience the student section for the first time. It’s a lot of fun dressing up for the games and cheering our team on. I went to my last SADD dance of my high school career. I got to watch our basketball team go to semi state. I also got to go to my last prom with my best friends; we took pictures, ate food, and went and danced. While I have had a great high school experience I’m ready for new beginnings. It’s a bittersweet feeling knowing the people you have grown up with are all going separate ways but I can’t wait to see how we will all flourish outside of high school.
