The newest Barbie movie is one of the highest grossing movies right now, starring Ryan Gosling as Ken, and Margot Robbie as Barbie. The movie has such a basic plot with huge impact turnovers. Margot Robbie was played as the “stereotypical” Barbie. She was the most popular Barbie; she had the “perfect” hair, body, and life. But, in the movie, she faces the biggest crisis known to Barbie Land. The movie has touched little girls’ and older women’s hearts, and was created to help girls know they can be anything they want to be. 

Most women enjoyed the parts of the movie that brought back their childhood, and even the parts of feminism. The movie includes topics about being very controversial with culture, life growing up, parental relationships, and, of course, feminism. It is a movie of expectation vs. reality. Barbie expects to live the perfect “Barbie Dream Life” every day, until she faces the biggest problem of her life, which she is dedicated to fixing for herself, while also helping others. 

The Barbie movie is very upfront about the struggles women and young girls face every day. It expresses the voices of women about their frustrations with life and self-image. After Barbie faces the crisis of her feet going flat, Barbie opens up to a whole new world, where everything is not perfect, but just a world. Along her way, she meets Gloria. Gloria had a bad relationship with her daughter Sasha, but from the help they gave to Barbie, Barbie also helped rekindle their relationship. The Barbie movie is known to be perfect for womanhood. 

Even though this movie is about the world and Barbie Land’s problems, it can also be known as a comedy. Some of the comments made in this movie are known as funny and make people laugh. Speaking of funny, as much as Barbie is the main character, Ken was hysterical. His love for Barbie is undeniable, but also hilarious. He was funny when he was not even trying to be. Many people have said, Ken just moving his arms and talking with so much compassion was funny. Ken was always jealous when other Ken talked to Barbie, he even tried to impress Barbie with a cool surf trick, but ended up falling on his bottom. 

When Barbie went into the real world, Ken was so dedicated to joining her, he snuck into her car. While Barbie was trying to search for her owner, who was responsible for her crisis (Gloria), Ken was feeling on top of the world. He read books and ended up thinking about how men should rule the world. When he and Barbie got back to Barbie Land, Ken changed everything. Barbie felt as if her life was ruined. She was finally getting her life back because she helped the mother who owned her as a Barbie doll but also rekindled Gloria and Sasha’s relationship between them. Barbie was ready for things to go back to normal, but they did not. Barbie’s perfect pink dream world was established into the “Ken-dom”. Until Gloria and Sasha helped Barbie and her world. The Barbie world went from Barbie Land to Ken’s mojo-dojo shenanigans (his mojo-dojo-casa house), and then back to Barbie Land.

The Barbie movie was a huge success earning a little over 1 billion dollars. This movie is for anyone, but it was made for and by women. The plot blends perfectly with the turning points in the movie. I personally asked ten of my friends to rate the Barbie movie out of ten stars, and all I got was all ten stars. If you are a girl and you have yet to see the movie, I would 100 percent recommend this movie to you. It is heartfelt, with a little bit of comedy. So, you can not go wrong with seeing it.
