As the Major League Baseball, or (MLB) regular season comes to an end it is time to start the postseason. The MLB postseason is some of the most exciting times for fans and players. As a Yankees fan I am not so excited as the Yankees are towards the bottom of their division in the AL East. The Yankees are coming off of an uneventful season ending the season 78-77 and finishing fourth in the AL East out of five teams. Coming in first in the AL East will be the Baltimore Orioles. The Baltimore Orioles are having a breakout season some might say with phenom player, Adley Rutschman, and Austen Riley having tremendous seasons for the Orioles who are 98-59 on the season, with a win percentage of .624 they are in great favor of a world series appearance. The AL East hasn’t always had the best teams, but lately they have been a great division with two of the top teams in the MLB residing from the East division.
The rest of the American League has not had the best season, as the best record after the AL East is the AL West with their top team the Texas Rangers only winning 86 games and losing 69. The wild card games will start soon and going into the tournament the Astros(6) will face the Twins(3) for the first game in the wild card series. The Texas Rangers(2) will get the bye round in the wild card and will face the winner of the Astros and Twins game. On the other side of the American League the Toronto Blue jays(5) will face off against the Tampa Bay Rays(4). The Orioles(1) will get the bye game in the wild card games.
The AL is looking good going into the post season playoffs, but the NL has one of the most dominant teams in the league, the Atlanta Braves are a huge powerhouse in the National League and are having a tremendous season so far. The Braves who are no.1 in the NL East with a record of 101 wins and 56 loses. The Braves will get a bye round in the wild card games as they will compete against the winner of the Philadelphia Phillies(4) and Arizona Diamondbacks(5). The other team with high chances for a world series run will be the dodgers. The Los Angeles Dodgers are leading the NL West with 98 wins and 60 losses in the regular season. The Dodgers(2) will also get the bye round against the Miami Marlins(6) who will be facing off against the Milwaukee Brewers(3). Game one of the MLB World Series will be held on October 27, and the World Series finals will be held on November 3.
