OJ was showing a very promising career when one day his whole life took a change for the worse. ( According to Britannica.com) OJ was acquitted in 1995 for the murder of his ex wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. It was named as one of the most notorious criminal trials in America. On June 12, 1994 Simpson’s ex wife and Ronald Goldman were stabbed outside her condominium in Los Angeles. Immediately OJ was the prime suspect in this murder case. OJ didn’t help his case, rather than turning himself in he hid in the back of his friends sport utility vehicle driven by his friend A.C. Cowlings. While the police were chasing the vehicle they were notified that OJ was wielding a firearm, so the police followed at slow speeds for around an hour as the so-called “chase” was racking in 95 million viewers. Simpson was later brought into custody, when OJ was brought into custody he pleaded not guilty as he was the prime suspect due to the late divorce between his wife. During the trial the Simpsons defense team relied heavily on the fact of mishandling evidence, and racist motivations from the Los Angeles Police. OJ wasn’t in the clear though as a detective found a bloody glove in OJ’s home, once the evidence was brought up in the trial the defense team then claimed that the glove was too small to fit the large hands of OJ Simpson, they also brought claims of evidence planting from the detectives. OJ was later found not guilty after a four hour trial, and was released with no charges, but was being sued by the families of the deceased. Not even four months later OJ was found guilty of his crimes and was to pay the families 33.5 million dollars in damages.
