I am quite confident in saying everybody listens to music. There are many different genres of music there is quite literally something for everyone, whether it be rock, country, pop, or rap, there is really no shortage of things for people to listen to, which helps prove my point further that everyone likes music. Of course, with such a broad audience of music, it only stands to reason there would be events for so much music, such as concerts, but have you ever wanted something bigger? Well, you are not the first person! Back in 1969, there was likely the most infamous music festival, Woodstock. Woodstock was infamous for how big it was at the time, though much of the size of the event has been exaggerated as the years have gone on, it was still a large event for the time. No music festival has really gained as much infamy as Woodstock, and none likely will, but in 1999, a new festival started that is probably as close as we will get.
Coachella is the name of the aforementioned festival and has been a hot topic for twenty-five years now. Each year brings in big names in music, such as Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Beyonce, OutKast, and Kendrick, just to name a few, and this year was no slacker with Coachella 2024 taking place from April 12-14 and will resume on April 19-21. Musicians appearing include, but are not limited to, Sublime, Doja Cat, Lil Uzi, Lil Yachty, Kid Cudi, and Tyler, The Creator. Of course, as mentioned, these are not all of the musicians taking the stage, as there are over one hundred eighty musicians making an appearance. I can not say I have heard of a lot of the musicians making an appearance, but if they can get spots at Coachella, I am certain they will or have put on quite a show.
Coachella is not just a big event among us normal people and musicians, as many celebrities have been posting their excitement or appearance at appearing at the festival. According to Paul Albani-Burgio on Deseertsun.com, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Paris Hilton, Justin Bieber, Will Smith, Megan Fox, and Emma Roberts have all posted photos on their social media of them enjoying the festivities at this year’s festival.
As mentioned previously, Coachella takes place over two weekends, April 14-16 and April 19-21. At the time of this article’s publication, the first weekend has already come and gone, but the first day of the second weekend should be underway! On the official Coachella.com website, general admission tickets go in tiers of up to three, with the prices going in order of $499, $549, and $599. The different tiers allow admission on certain days. An option for VIP is also available for upwards of $1,000! A pretty penny, but the experience of being at one of the highly praised and most popular music festivals of all time might just make it worth it. If you want to get to Coachella, you better hurry up and head on over to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California!
