Youth group meetings can often include worshiping, fun games, activities, and time for spiritual growth. Additional youth group activities can include events such as bowling, laser tag, trips to corn mazes, and service opportunities. Being included in these activities is quite exciting and fun. I’ve always loved being in a youth group. It provides a place where me and my friends can be ourselves, exercise our freedom in a way and learn more about God and who He is. The goal of the youth groups is to help children and teenagers with spiritual guidance. Plenty of fun, too. I remember when I was in a youth group, it was organized by my old church. We did a lot of fun activities. Waterslides, basketball, painting, singing, all kinds of things. It was awesome. While it may not have been perfect for everyone in my old town, it was perfect for my brothers and I. And the other kids in the youth group. The older kids there were awesome, too. If one of the younger kids were to be uncomfortable or scared to do an activity, they would hang out with us and talk with them on why they were uncomfortable. Talking and hanging out with those kids were amazing. They never forced us into an activity or anything like that, they just encouraged us. They were wonderful people, and I’m sure the people here in Walton are, too. To join a youth group, usually you have to be 12 to 18 years old. Oftentimes, in a youth group, it’s people from your church. So you most likely already know everybody. If you don’t, you’ll get to know them. Youth group for me and other kids was pretty awesome. It provided friendships that I didn’t get at school because other kids didn’t want to interact with me. It connected me with people who shared a common interest. Come join us at a youth group meeting sometime!
