What do most people look forward to when watching the major award ceremonies like The Oscars, Golden Globes, and Grammys? They look forward to seeing the extravagant attire most celebrities show up in. The most recent awards ceremony was the Grammys, and the apparel did not disappoint, to say the least. Although the night paid tribute to the first responders and victims of the tragic LA wildfires, some of the guest’s fashion still showed the uniqueness and boldness of their personalities.
Some guests who attended the Grammys chose to go in a more somber direction and chose to wear darker colors showing their appreciation and giving recognition to all involved in the wildfires. Some well-known celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, and Lady Gaga went with the all-black theme. Miley Cyrus showed up in an all-black leather, Saint Laurent dress(CNN Style). While Mylie’s was simple and chic, Billie stuck with her style and wore a sailor hat and black Prada suit(Style Rave).
On an upbeat note, some celebrities decided to make a statement with their fashion. Starting off, Jaden Smith was named “Most Home Alone” by the New York Times. Jaden presented himself in a black Louis Vuitton tuxedo, but taking a first glance at his face it looked as if he was wearing a house-shaped hat on his head. At second glance, it can be confirmed that he actually was wearing a house-shaped hat on his head. Singer-songwriter, Chappell Roan grabbed many people’s attention as she walked down the carpet all dolled up, literally. Her vibrant orange dress was painted in ballet dancers, and her makeup was nothing less than doll-like. As many fascinating looks that could be talked about, the one that has been tossed around the internet the past few days is Kanye West’s Wife, Bianca Censori who seemed like she was wearing a nice big furry coat. She was wearing a big coat, but that was the only thing she had on. As the couple stopped on the carpet to let the paparazzi take photos, she turned around and dropped the coat to reveal practically nothing. She was wearing a nude-colored see-through mesh dress with clear flip-flop heels.
Feathers seemed to make a small appearance in a couple of celebrities’ attire. Cardi B, who was nominated for best rap performance, showed out in a long black and gold dress with multi-colored feathers trailing behind her(E! Online). Staying on a feathered theme, Sabrina Carpenter rocked a silky blue dress with the addition of ostrich feathers at the waist and bottom of the gown, which flattered her perfectly(Vogue).
Watching the Grammys, and any other awards ceremony, and seeing the unique styles everyone chooses, adds to the whole experience. It is fun to be able to sit at home and hear everyone’s opinion about the crazy outfits they see, or maybe even pieces they would consider wearing themselves. If you, or someone you know have not gotten the chance to watch an awards program just to see some of the amazing and unexpected fashion, it is a fun experience for anyone, and it is highly recommended.
