The Year Ends with a Disco
The end of the year can bring stress, but many fun memories as students dance their way through the end of the school year into summer. Students get to let go and relieve some of the end-of-year stress at prom. Prom is one of the tell-tale signs that the end of the year grows ever nearer.
Perfect Prom venue?
Prom 2025 marks the first prom in a few years that was held on a boat. For Mr. Jesse Wilson, the sponsor of the prom committee, he only had to look elsewhere due to a construction project in the 2000s. The boat seemed popular among the students. For senior, Eliana Cicalo, she felt the boat was a great choice because it did not allow students to leave mid-dance. This made people engage and socialize more than they might have otherwise. There is, of course, the question of where prom will be held next year. Mr. Wilson answered with his idea of potentially alternating venues. Harrison Clark, the Junior Class President, was asked his thoughts on the venue, said, “I thought the boat was a fantastic venue.” The overall consensus seems to be that the Madam Carroll was a popular venue among the attendees.
Themed Fun
For a night full of guaranteed fun, there has to be a theme for the decor. Clark explained his method for choosing the theme was decided by send out three choices to the junior and senior classes. “I sent out a poll to the junior and senior classes with three options and a write-in option, and they selected the theme ‘Night in Vegas.” Clark expressed the importance of not choosing the venue that the president necessarily wants, but leaning on his or her classmates so everyone is happy. The Vegas theme allowed people to decorate with a set theme for the decorations.
Night of fun in Vegas
For many students, this prom blew last year out of the water. For Cicalo, this year had to be the best one. She explained, “The atmosphere was just the best.” The students went all out with their outfits. They screamed their hearts out with their friends to all their favorite songs. Some danced so hard they had to be dragged off the dance floor at the end of the night. The students ended up really enjoying prom 2025.
Crowned King and Queen of the Dance Floor
No prom is complete without the crowning of the 2025 prom king and queen. The king and queen were crowned halfway through the night. The queen court consisted of Sydney Holmquist, Hannah Zamora, Kaitlyn Benner, Maryn Zeck, and Mylie Sipe. The crowned queen, as voted on by the students, was Mylie Sipe. For the guys, Griffin Wolf, Wade Tocco, Trevor Rowe, and both Nolan Hahn and Nolan Hines were on the court. Hines took the crown in the end, making this his second crowning homecoming, being the first.
Dancing to the End
The end of prom marked the last prom for the seniors. The energy they brought will be deeply missed. Though the sophomores will be eligible to go next year, the seniors will be missed. Students will find out if the next prom will be just as memorable next spring.
