Jacoby Brissett is the GOAT

Jacoby Brissett is the GOAT

Yesterday the Indianapolis Colts defeated a division rival in the Houston Texans. The Colts were led by their star quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Brissett was the twenty-ninth pick of the third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was drafted to the New England Patriots, where he won a Super Bowl behind Tom Brady.

This win over the Texans put the Colts at the top of the AFC South. For the past few years Houston has been our rival in our division, so this was a good win. Brissett threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns yesterday, with a completion percentage of sixty-six point seven percent. This was a career high for Jacoby Brissett, but he wasn’t the only player to have a career day. Zach Pascal, a wide receiver for the Colts also had the best day of his young career. Pascal had six receptions for 106 receiving yards against J.J. Watt and the rest of the Texans defense.

Brissett had a lot of pressure put on him this season. The starting quarterback for the Colts, Andrew Luck, retired before the season started. Prior to this season Brissett had only started twenty-three games in the NFL. Despite this, the coaches and players still had confidence in him. Brissett has performed extremely well under the pressure this season.

Brissett has improved his game a lot over his last couple of years in the league. He started with the New England Patriots only playing three games and averaging 133 passing yards a game. After playing his first season with the Patriots he was traded to his current team, the Indianapolis Colts. His first year on the Colts starting quarterback, Andrew Luck, was hurt. Brissett played sixteen games and averaged 194 passing yards a game. When the 2018 season came around Andrew Luck returned and Brissett became a back up again. Last year he played four games and only averaged half a yard a game. With that season behind him, Brissett has really impressed people with his performance this season. The future’s looking bright for this young Colts quarterback, and the rest of the organization.
