New Girl

Throughout the course of the school year, the majority of the staff and students have been quarantined in multiple instances. I was so glad I had not been called to quarantine for almost the whole semester, until recently. During my time in quarantine, I needed to find something to do to cure my boredom. Running was enough to fill my extra time, and I had finished all of my schoolwork. I had been so bored I even got up to clean the kitchen at 1:30 am! My schedule was usually always packed with school, sports, and my job. I was always too busy to watch television or Netflix, but since I had all the time in the world, I thought of checking out a show that one of my best friends so desperately urged me to watch. That show was New Girl. I was very skeptical at first, but I was surprisingly hooked at the first episode.

I definitely would not want to give out spoilers in case you decide you want to watch this in the future, but let me just say that it is definitely worth your time. During quarantine, I have spent so much time watching the new intriguing show, “New Girl”. I know that is not the healthiest, but the show was so addicting and oh so amazing! Someone had once said the show was like Gossip Girl but with old, broke people rather than rich, young teenagers. The more I thought about it, the more I agreed with that concept. Each character is just so hilarious in their own unique way. There are four people living in a loft in Los Angeles where there are three boys and one girl. The guys’ names are Schmidt, Nick, and Winston, and the girl’s name is Jess. Between the four of them, they have formed a special bond and friendship that could never be broken.

Jess moved into the loft thinking the three residents were girls, but she was surprisingly mistaken. She needed to find a place to escape her messy breakup with her ex who cheated on her. Jess’s best friend is a model and had many model friends which is one of the main reasons the guys had agreed on letting her stay. Her personality is utterly unique and can not be missed. She caught the hearts of many throughout her journey with her quirkiness and big, blue eyes. They have all gone through so many relatable adventures with awful outcomes that could possibly only happen in television shows. Different relationships have come and gone, but their friendship has lasted throughout the series despite their ups and downs.

If anyone likes comedy, a little bit of romance, and a show that highlights true friendship and amazing bonds, then this is the show for you. The show really keeps you on your toes and makes you wish you had a friendship like theirs. There are big celebrity guest appearances which gives even more unexpected excitement. My boredom during quarantine definitely dwindled down after the discovery of “New Girl”. I promise you all, starting this show will not disappoint you one bit. Every single person I have asked completely enjoyed the show. Anyone who has seen New Girl would also recommend it to others, so what do you have to lose?
