Kindness

Kindness

Kindness. What a simple way to tell another struggling soul that there is love to be found in this world. Being kind isn’t the hardest thing in the world, I mean at least for most days. However we are human and everyone has their “bad days.” Some people actually have a bad day every day, sometimes they are good at hiding their emotions, they put on a shield, a mask, anything to have other people think they’re normal. Sometimes they choose just not to feel any emotions, and sometimes they’re simply a “meh person.”

The only problem with being a meh person is you’re typically not living up to your full potential of being the happiest you can, and your emotions of not feeling emotions tend to rub off on other people whether you mean them to or not. For example let’s say your friend goes to tell you a joke, and you just don’t say anything. This reaction could either one upset them and hurt their feelings, or two encourage them to not tell jokes anymore. If you’re the kid, the kid who shows no emotion, it’s possible there is an underlying issue to your feelings. Maybe you have an insecurity that everyday you just can’t get over. Or maybe you just aren’t a “people person.” But there are things you can do to overcome these issues. Things that don’t include harming or pointing out other people’s weaknesses.

So maybe you’re the kid who needs a little kindness thrown your way, and maybe you’re the kid who always gets criticized. Or maybe you’re the kid who  shows little to no emotion everyday. Or maybe you even purposely try to make someone’s day worse. My point is being kind isn’t the hardest thing in the world, so give kindness a try. Put in actual effort into your day to be kind and make others happier. Kindness is loaning someone your strength instead of reminding them of their weaknesses.
