Abortion is a very sensitive as well as controversial topic to discuss today in society. Should abortion be a woman’s right? A majority of people would agree that there is nothing wrong with abortion…I mean…it isn’t a human, just a fetus. In my personal opinion, I do not agree with abortion, and I believe that anything after the moment of conception is considered a human being. Abortion is a cruel, heartbreaking, horrid thing to do, and should be considered murdering an innocent life.

Before I go into my opinion, I think it is important you know how an abortion works. There is an abortion pill, or there is a procedure that happens which literally pulls the baby out of the womb. In simpler terms, murder is taking place. Don’t believe me? The definition of murder is: “the unlawful premediated killing of one human being by another.” 

In Jeremiah 1:5 it states that “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” No child is a “mistake” or doesn’t serve any type of purpose to this world. Biologically a man and a woman creates a child, but that child could not be created without God. God already had a plan and a purpose for your life before you were even born, so why would anybody want to kill away God’s plan?

You may be wondering, what if a girl gets raped? I understand that is a tragic incident that no girl should ever have to be put through. But God says in Jeremiah 29:11 that “for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you hope and a future.” In simpler terms, God doesn’t allow anything to happen without a reason. Even if the mother doesn’t want to keep the baby, adoption is always a positive way out of the situation. My little sister is adopted, and I am so thankful that I get to watch her grow up and fulfill God’s plan for her, instead of having her life taken away. 

Abortions are not only tragic for the baby, but they can also be extremely unsafe for the mother as well. So many things could go wrong during an abortion, such as infection or injury to the womb, needing another procedure for parts that remained in the womb, heavy bleeding, or even death. There is so many dangers and things that could go wrong during an abortion for the woman, but people don’t want to admit that.

You may still not agree with me, but that’s okay. This is just my personal opinion on abortion, and why it needs to be stopped immediently. There is no such thing as a pointless child, or a child born without purpose. God already had a plan for that baby’s life, even before conception. A child’s life is precious, don’t take that child’s life away before it even has a chance to begin.
