Agriculture Field Trip

Agriculture Field Trip

For agriculture we had a contest on judging soil during the contest, we had to ribbon the soil. We judged the soil by putting a knife through the soil to determine if the soil was moderate clayey or pure clay. We had to answer four pages of questions, two of the worksheets were about the agriculture of the soil, and the other two were about the home site of the soil. Whoever scored the highest on the field trip got to go to the Soils Contest the next week. We had to put our answers on a scantron. After we answered all the questions and the scorecard. We ate lunch, and played outside. It took us an hour to get there and it took us an hour to get back to school. We came back to our school and put our stuff away and left to go home.

There were other schools in Miami County, as well as other grades. Teachers from other schools were also there. There were also people there to help us learn how to judge the soil and they also showed us how to put our answers on a scorecard. The field we went to was by a house. The field was very muddy. We enjoyed the trip, and we were sad to leave.
