Bioshock: The Best Video Game

Bioshock: The Best Video Game

Have you ever just got home from work and wanted to play a good video game? I sure have, and I have sat just browsing for which one I want to play. If I get bored and want a new game, I look at the online store and find a new game. Some newer games feel money hungry. You have Halo Infinite’s Multiplayer, where a simple virtual charm costs twenty dollars. You also have games like Fifa, where it is practically the same game every year. There are some good games released recently, but there are certainly a lot of bad ones. A lot of older games have been better than a lot of recently developed games. One of these games was released all the way back in 2007. Which is a game called Bioshock.

Bioshock was released August 21st, 2007. It has been praised as one of the best video games. It has spawned two sequels and a book. It also is supposed to have a new sequel coming out sometime this year.

So why is this video game the best? One of the reasons is the story. I will not spoil the whole story, but the game takes place in an underwater city called Rapture. You play as Jack who crashed on a plane and discovered a lighthouse that took you to Rapture. There you meet a guy called Atlas who helps guide you through your journey. The game also has many audio logs that help you picture what happened to this underwater city and why it is so dilapidated. You get what you put in. You can try to collect as many audio logs or you can not collect any.

Another reason this video game is the best is the gameplay. You have to fight enemies called splicers who are mangled with their obsession with Adam. Adam gets powers called plasmids. The player can collect Adam to gain new plasmids, or powers. You can only have a limited amount of powers at a time and can upgrade your plasmids. You also have the normal ability to use firearms. But you can also use some new weapons like a chemical sprayer. As you progress through the game you will meet “Little Sisters.” They are girls who collect Adam and are protected by “Big Daddies,” which are humans who have had their skin surgically grafted to armor and are made to protect the Little Sisters. You will have to fight the Big Daddies to be able to get Adam from the Little Sisters.

Another great thing about this game is the replayability. There are many different ways to play the game, such as a wrench swinging beast to a plasmid using a wizard. It is interesting to play the game in many different styles. There are so many things you will miss in subsequent playthroughs.

You can buy Bioshock along with every DLC (Downloadable Content) and game for only 60 dollars. Though it is often on sale. I bought my copy for only sixteen dollars. Do not let your 6 year old cousin play this game though. It involves a lot of gore and strong language. I hope many more people will get to experience this masterpiece of a game.
