Should Animal Testing be Allowed?

Do you love animals? Well I do, and I do not think that people should be allowed to test animals. Animal testing should not be allowed because of many reasons. Some of the reasons are the animals can get very sick and even die, they don’t get to live a life if they are in a lab their whole life, and it is very cruel because the animals didn’t do anything to you so why should you do this to them?

The first reason I think animal testing should not be allowed is because if you didn’t test on animals, then there could be a great home out there for animals to go to. According to haaretz.com, “As it turns out, the vast majority of animals – 97 percent – are killed at the end of experimentation.” Also according to science.rspca.org.uk, “More than 100 million animals are used in research and testing across the world each year.” That is a lot of animals being tested each year and then passing away.

The final reason I think animal testing should not be allowed is because if you take any animals from the wild to test them, you are taking them away from their home and family. If you take away any animals when they are babies that is not fair for them because they don’t get to live a life. If they just tested on a dog, cat, fish, rabbit and other animals then that could be taking away someone’s pet. Animals mostly get tested for cosmetic products and household items. According to humanesociety.org “One easy way to help animals suffering in cosmetics tests is to swap out your personal care and household products for cruelty-free versions.”

In conclusion, some ways to solve animal testing are testing on human cells and tissue; also, you could use advanced computer-modeling techniques also known as a silicon model. Could you ever think about your animal being tested?
