The New Restaurant: Fire Pizza
As time goes on and children grow from toddlers into teenagers, pieces in their life change. Those changes can be slight or even severe. The change that happens in life many times is families and people move. Whether it be moving away or moving back into your home town from college. Many times in our community, alumni will eventually move back and raise their children in the same community that shaped them and helped support them throughout their childhood. This is the occasion for Jake and Aly Rouch. Jake and Aly both went to high school at Lewis Cass. They now own Fire Pizza which is bound to be a big hit and a successful restaurant in the town of Walton for years to come.
First, one must understand the impact Jake’s family had on our community and why people are so glad about them becoming the owners of the new restaurant. Jake’s family played a major part in the community for several years. Scott Rouch is Jake’s dad. From 1986 to 2012 he was the defensive coordinator and worked alongside hall of fame great Scott Mannering. Scott’s brother is Neil Rowe who also coached and went to Lewis Cass for several years. He now sells insurance in Kokomo. Scott was the head wrestling coach for around 20 years and was also the softball coach during their reign of winning two state championships. Scott has been a major part of our community with the success he has throughout athletics. Not only was Scott successful in sports, his son Jake thrived throughout high school as well. Jake was a 2 sport athlete at Lewis Cass where he played football and track. Jake was a part of the team that made a run to the football state championship in 2008. That team went 13-2 and lost only to West Lafayette before the championship game. He was a dominant force on the line and helped lead the team to its first ever state championship game appearance. Jake was also able to reach state in track and field where he was a state finalist in the discus throw. To say the least, both Jake and Scott have succeeded in athletics and made our community proud. This is why people are so glad to see Jake back in Walton as the new owner of Fire Pizza.
Fire Pizza has already proven to be a hit and succeed in towns like Walton. They have two other restaurants that are located in Flora and Russiaville. They offer a variety of foods on their menu but as the title says they are known for their pizza. However, they do provide many good options for food such as; sandwiches, tacos, calzones, salads, and other good appetizers. They do have a bar which is bound to be successful with the delicious food they have to pair with it. Fire Pizza is located right in the middle of town and they just completed all the renovations on the building. They are open each day except for Monday. Their Tuesday through Sunday Hours are as follows; Sunday – Monday 3-9 and Friday & Saturday 3-10. Their grand opening is May 3rd at 3 o’clock. With the owners of Fire Pizza as well as, they succeed they have had in other small towns like ours, it seems as if this new restaurant will become a town favorite.
