Should students have more time for lunch? We think that students should have more lunch time because students need more time to eat nutritious food and socialize more. They also need more time to eat their food because some of them get there late to lunch and only have a few minutes to eat their lunch. Getting more lunch time can also reduce food waste and can also improve students’ physical and cognitive health. Having more time for lunch can also give them more time to socialize. This can also improve well being and academic performance. We think students should also be able to stay in the cafeteria longer and not be rushed to eat.
Some people don’t think students should have more time for lunch because students will have reduced learning time and they need more supervision. Students should also have a longer lunch because it helps them release stress from working on homework all day. There could be logical and financial reasons for students not having more time for lunch like traffic getting worse later in the day because students would get out of school later than usual. This could also make classes shorter and the school would have to make the classes longer in order to have a proper school day. Students need more physical activity throughout the school year because only 7 weeks of gym can hurt their physical health.
Even though this would make the school day longer, it would be good for the students to have more time to socialize with their peers. Having more time for lunch could also improve academic performance and well-being so it would be better for the overall school if we made school lunches longer than usual. This also could improve nutrition in the school and the school’s overall health. Something else that could improve with more lunch time is if we get more nutritious food that would increase multiple kids’ health a ton because all kids need as much nutrition as possible so they can grow healthier. If you give kids more time for lunch it will help them refresh their mind so they can learn and listen to their teachers better. Most importantly, teachers don’t want to babysit their students because they can get stressed. Also, more lunch time can get teachers more time to eat throughout the day. Students also deserve more time for physical education because they usually don’t get much physical activity throughout the day and have to sit in a classroom for 45 minutes every class.
