It’s a new year and there’s plenty of new faces in the building from new students coming from the elementary and plenty of older faces from last year too. We are going to be interviewing two students from each grade and ask for their perspective of the Jr./High School building. We wanted to know what some students in middle school thought about their upcoming grades and what they were most excited about.
We started off asking the seventh graders what they’re most excited about this year. The first seventh grader we asked was Kelsey Elpers and she said, “I’m excited for school activities and being a part of this school year.” She sure has been doing great in cross country this year so far. We then asked Sydney Ramer and she said she was excited to “Meet new people and make new friends.” We then asked them what they think about their upcoming grade, starting with Sydney Ramer, who said “I think that 8th grade will be super fun! We have new teachers and it will be more challenging so I can see how much I can grow as a person.” Now onto Kelsey, she said “I think my upcoming grade is going to be great!” I bet the teachers can’t wait to have them in class next year.
Then we moved onto sixth graders. When we asked Lucas Amor what he was most excited about this year he said, “I’m most excited about homecoming.” Then we asked Avalyn Frey and she said that for this year she was most excited about the “Fun Fridays and the school’s dress up days.” Then we asked them what they are most excited about their upcoming grade. We started with Lucas and he said he was most excited about “trying out for the advanced choir.” Then Avalyn said she was excited about “cheer and trying out to be a flyer.”
For the eighth graders we interviewed Josie Johnson and Wyatt Billard. We asked them the following questions: What are you most excited for this year? What are you most excited for in your upcoming grade? Josie said, “This year I’m most excited for the DC trip.” The DC trip is a trip that eighth graders go on for a week in the spring. As for what she thinks about next year she said, “I think that I’m going to be provided with a lot of opportunities and good learning experiences.” We moved on to Wyatt Billiard, we first asked him what he was most excited for this year and he said, “I am most excited about all of the after school activities and events that are gonna happen this year like, my football season, choir concerts, and basketball season.” Sounds like everyone is really excited about this grade and the upcoming grade and can’t wait to see what is gonna happen next.
