Four advance to finals at New Haven Wrestling Invitational

This past Saturday a wrestling tournament in New Haven took place. The KIngs’ wrestling team took part in that tourney. It was a long tough day for the Kings. They only had a few wrestlers make it into the finals, but It was also a good day since every King did their absolute best. Niles Wise, Noah Miller, Azarius Roberts, and Kirt Ohlemacher were the few that made it into the finals.

The tourney started at 9:00 am and didn’t end until around 6:30 pm. It was a very long day for the wrestling team. There was a lot of tough competition at the tourney. This was also the first year the Kings attended this competition. The 2A Kings had to face inner city schools up to the 6A rank. That did not phase the Kings as they were able to wrestle hard and hang with the best of them. The Kings entered this tourney not to win it but to get practice before their conference and sectional tournaments. This will prove to be a great help since the wrestlers are getting more experience facing tougher opponents. Wrestlers like Hunter Carden, Gage Lytle, Drake Hall, and Cade Cox went 1-2 or 2-2 for the day.  They had tough competition and still continued to fight.

This still proved a successful day even though the Kings didn’t have many wrestlers in the finals. The wrestlers that did make it to the finals weren’t all successful though. Noah Miller lost a tough championship match 4-5. Niles Wise lost a close match for third place. Azarius Roberts won his match for third place. Kirt Ohlemacher lost his championship match 0-2. Kirt’s match proved to be a tough one, but he was not discouraged afterwards.

The Kings should take this tough tournament as a win. The Kings may have not done so successful, but they can only get better from here. The Kings will have an advantage over their opponents at their own tournaments. Their opponents will probably not have wrestled competition as tough as the competition at New Haven. The Kings should prove to be successful at all their upcoming tournaments for the rest of the season. They should not feel discouraged or disappointed in themselves over the results of the tournament. All they need to do is get on with practice and continue to wrestle hard.

The Kings will be at Cass TONIGHT to wrestle Winamac. The Kings should come out on top, and they should use the skills they learned at the New Haven to beat Winamac. The meet will start at 6:00 pm  and should end around 7:30-8:00 pm. Winamac has proven to be a tough opponent in past years. Will the Kings Succeed? Should they even show up? It will be a war on Monday for sure. Only time will tell what will happen. The Kings should be ready to wrestle hard!
