Junior High basketball started 12 weeks ago. The 7th and 8th grade basketball teams have had a decent season. 7th grade just had their last home game against Maconaquah and lost 48-35. The 8th grade lost their game against Maconaquah with a score of 30-25.The 7th grade team also just played Caston. 7th grade won with a score of 29-20.The 7th grade team consists of Myles Johnson, Jaxon Lutane, Brody Skiles, Christopher Wells, Jacob Dixon, Greyson Fisher, Reynaldo Madrigal, Jaxon Stroud, Nick Shcottler, Chase Lobenthal, and Tucker Smith. Injured players consist of Sam Hull and Aiden Wallace. The 8th grade team has Gabriel Lobenthal, Bentley Gray, Bentlee McCauley, Brecken Smith, Kaleb Knapp, Wyatt Smith, Cooper Collins, Dillion Lee, and Eli Chomko. The 7th and 8th grade schedule consisted of Caston, Maconaquah, North Western, Peru, North Miami, Rochester, Peru, Eastern, Whiko, Walbash, Pioneer, and Manchester. The 7th and 8th graders both have tournaments coming up for the TRC conference; the dates for these tournaments are February 6 and February 10th.
Manchester was the 7th grade’s best game with a score of 33 to 19, 7th grade won. The 7th grade has had a back and forth season with a record of 4 and 6. The 8th grade’s best game was Pioneer. The final score of the 8th grade Pioneer game final score was 25 to 13 Cass wins.
The 8th grade record this year is a record of 1 and 9. The next 8th grade game is their last home game and the 7th grade game is away at Peru Middle School. The 8th and the 7th grade basketball teams have 2 final tournaments for the TRC conference. The teams that we weren’t able to play this year were Norfield and Southwood. In conclusion this is how the 7th and 8th grade basketball season has been so far, the boys will see how well they can do in their TRC tournament on the 6th and the 10th of February.
