Some students are scared to ask questions in class. Most students are afraid due to the fact that they could be shunned or made fun of after asking their questions. You may not know this, but questions are essential to your understanding of a subject. Although questions are essential, the student could feel bad for asking questions based on the attitude of the teachers and other students toward the questions.
Questions can be the primary way someone learns. If someone does not allow the students to ask a simple, or maybe complex, question, the student may not learn much of anything in that class. Most students can benefit from questions as it can help them understand the material more and help them clarify their thoughts on how to do the work.
The biggest thing is that students could get made fun of because of the questions they ask and the teacher could get mad at them due to the fact that they think that teacher just went over the answer to their question. Students now are afraid to ask questions even to their friends sometimes because they are afraid to be made fun of and shunned. Some friends even think that they will even get kicked out of their friend group and they think that they won’t be able to make any more friends.
