Some enjoy spending time with family and friends and building gingerbread houses, while others enjoy watching Christmas movies and singing Christmas songs the day after Thanksgiving. As a kid, it was a universal experience to wake our parents up waaaaayyyyyyy too early in the morning, around seven, or even five or six am. Sitting around the tree on a brisk, early Christmas morning, waiting to open Christmas presents, was always my favorite part of the Christmas season as a kid.

It is so strange to think that as kids we all hated getting clothes, and now we love to get them.
Back in my day (5-10 years ago), technology such as the newest iPhone or the Hoverboard was a trending Christmas gift. The trends change each year, so what Christmas gifts are trending this year? Christmas is not only about receiving gifts, but also about giving gifts. Madison Schrekenghaust was asked what her favorite activity to participate in for Christmas was. She simply stated, Christmas shopping for other people and wrapping gifts. Perfumes and colognes are always good options, too. When looking for trending toys this year, Elfster mentioned Legos and new card games such as You Can’t Say “UMM” and Piggy Piggy. Most students would love those as gifts even nowadays. I am always curious to know what the latest tech and electronic options are; Elfster said the Amazon Echo, Apple Watch, and…Litter Robot? It is exactly how it sounds-a robot that cleans and replaces the cat’s litter. The litter robot actually seems like a good gift for that cat owner in anyone’s life. Every year, gifts seem to get more advanced.
Christmas time is not only about giving gifts, but it is also a significant part of the holiday. There are new trending gifts every year, but as a last resort, if you cannot think of anything to get that special person in your life, a candle or blanket is always a popular choice.
