Have you been wondering what will happen when Aftin and Anna or Trey and Brennan graduate from Lewis Cass? Who is going to step up on the court and fill the spots? If you haven’t already guessed, we are going to be talking about the future of Lewis Cass Basketball.
In 8th grade we are going to be talking to Sophia Bobay and Oakland Preston about their basketball season this year. We asked Sophia our question, “What is your team’s biggest strength and weakness?” She answered by saying, “I think my biggest strength is looking ahead to the future. My biggest weakness is I have a hard time overcoming loss and I’m always very hard on myself for no reason. ” Oakland was asked the question, “What is the hardest team you played? ” His response to our question was, “Pioneer was the hardest team we played because they have a lot of size and skill.”
In 7th grade we have Breckyn Bell and Macen Perrone to tell us about how their basketball season is going so far. Breckyn answers the question “Are you going to play basketball in high school?” by saying “ Yes, I’m planning on it”. Macen’s question was “Why do you play basketball?” and he answered by saying, “Because I get to see my friends and hangout with them daily.”
In 6th grade we interviewed Baxter Hillis and Genevieve McCauley. The question we asked Baxter was, “How do you think your season went?” He answered by saying “ It was good we went 10-4, we beat strong teams like Logan, Western, and Eastern. Our head coach Isaac Chambers helped us improve throughout the whole season. In my opinion I think we had a great season, so I believe we all are looking forward to the future of our Lewis Cass basketball careers’. ” Then we asked Genevieve,” Why do you play basketball?” She answered by saying “Friends, because if someone is feeling down then we can hype them up and make them feel better.”
In conclusion, the future of Lewis Cass basketball is bright for boys and girls. We have many middle schoolers that are ready to fill in the shoes of our high schoolers. So, start supporting your middle school players now so they’re ready for the big games.
