The end of the school year is right around the corner. There is less than a month of school, and many students are checked out, not wanting to do work; senioritis is strong, hitting the seniors like a Mack truck, and everybody is just ready for summer. Sadly, the Kings’ Courier readers are going to have to say goodbye to some of their favorite authors. The seniors for the Kings’ Courier this year included J. “Michael” Myers, Kaison Hipsher-Walker, Aftin Griffin, Liberty Preston, AnnaLeigh Hedrick, Bianca Panmei, and Kylie Logan.
Michael Myers
Michael is the first senior who has been on the Kings’ Cast & Courier the longest. Myers has been on staff for three years and has played a big role in the class. His favorite episode throughout the years was the Boys’ Edition episode from last year. Myers stated he will miss the personal growth from this class because he said, “At the start, I was nervous to be on camera and had to force myself to be on it,” but now he is the star of the cast.
AnnaLeigh Hedrick & Kylie Logan
Anna and Kylie have been on the Kings’ Cast for the past two seasons. Hedrick said, “My favorite segment was the Iron Chef Cookoff between Lily and Michael because the food was really good.” Personally, my favorite episode this season was the Alani energy drink taste testing video because it helped me pick the flavors I like the most. This class helped enhance my writing perspective because before taking journalism, I did not know how to write articles or stories, only essays. So, this class helped me advance in my writing skills. I will miss working with Mrs. Scott on all of my college stuff and getting everything figured out.
Kaison Hipsher-Walker, Aftin Griffin, Liberty Preston, and Bianca Panmei.
This year, the Cast and Courier had an addition of four new seniors, Kaison Hipsher-Walker, Aftin Griffin, Liberty Preston, and Bianca Panmei. Hipsher-Walker stated his favorite part of the class was making friendships he did not expect to gain. Kaison said that he does not have a least favorite episode, but if he did, it would be one that he is not in. Griffin said that her favorite article she wrote was Finishing Strong: My Journey to the State Meet and Beyond. She said it was her favorite because she talked about the day she traveled to the State cross country meet, and it was fun writing about her experience. “It was fast and easy to write,” she added. Liberty Preston said, “Since taking the class, my grammar has improved, and I have learned to write more in-depth.” She continued saying that if she had the freedom to write whatever she could, she would have written about sports since that is the industry she is going into in college. Panmei is the last senior leaving the Courier, and she said her favorite part of the class is participating in the fun games for the Cast episodes.
Overall, these seniors played a huge role in the Kings’ Courier and Cast. These seniors will be greatly missed! Good luck with life after high school!
