There are many sports during the fall season. For junior high there are Volleyball, Tennis, Cross Country, and Football. Today’s article is about the 2025 seventh grade football season. The seventh grade football team ended this season with a record of 3-3. We will be interviewing Benjamin Hintz, Maisy Gilbert, Immanuel Smith, Mr. Green, and Victor Forgey.
First we interviewed three of the seventh grade football players, asking them all the same questions to get their different perspectives. The questions were “How do you think you’ve done as an individual in football?” and “How do you think you’ve done all together as a team?”, and our last question for the football players was, “What was your favorite part of this season?”. The first player we interviewed was Immanuel Smith. For our second question, he said “We improved a lot”, then we asked him our third question, and he said “My favorite part was winning our first game”. The next player we interviewed was Victor Forgey. His answer to our second question was “we probably need to work on our defence”. Then we asked him the third question and he said “just winning games”. Then we interviewed Ben Hintz. For our second question he said “Decently, we did win a lot of games”. His response to our third question was “Scoring touchdowns”. For our first question that was about how they did individually they all said “Pretty good”.
Then we interviewed their manager Maisy Gilbert, asking her three questions, one of them being how she thinks the football team did this season. The second question being, what her favorite part of being the football team’s manager was. Her third and final question was if she thinks she will manage next year. For our first question her response was, “I think the 7th grade definitely did better than the 8th grade this year, but they both did really well.” Her response for the second question was, “My favorite part was definitely just helping out at games and practices.” For her third and final question was, “I definitely will manage next year.”
We interviewed Mr. Green, the 7th grade math teacher and 8th grade football coach. We asked him three questions as well. His questions were, “how do you think the football team did this season?” “Are you excited about coaching this team next year?” And his last question was, “How do you think the football team will do in high school football?” His response for the first question was, “The 7th grade football team finished the year with a record of 3 and 3, the team exceeded their expectations and experienced a lot of growth throughout the season. They came in and worked hard everyday. They are a coachable group with potential.” Mr. Green’s response to our second question was “Yes I am. I think they will accomplish more next year.” Then we asked him our third question and his response was, “I think that this seventh grade team has some players that will be able to make a big impact at the varsity level in a few years if they continue to work hard.”
This was our news article on the 7th grade football team. Overall, it’s clear that they did well, but there is always room for improvement. But don’t give all the credit to the players, without the managers and the coaches help they wouldn’t have been able to do very well since the coaches give them the plays and the managers keep them hydrated. Make sure you go to their games next year to cheer them on, GO KINGS!
