Everyone in the world has at least heard once about the tv show named game of thrones…but what is it exactly and why is it so famous among people ?

First the Tv show Game of Thrones is based on George R.R. Martin’s series of books  called “A song of Ice and fire”.The first book of this series was started in 1991 and was published for the first time in 1996. Initially the author planned to write just three books but over the years his opinion changed and right now he has written 5 of the 7 books planned. By the way, during the years he also published a lot of stories and little books related to the novels series.

Anyways, the novels’ plot is really interesting but also intricate through the pages of the book and also the scenes of the movie. In fact the plot is set in a medieval fantasy world mainly divided in two great parts,Westeros( the west part) and Essos( the east part), in which there are different families that are fighting for the control of the Iron Throne and the land of Westeros. Furthermore, one of the most interesting things in these novels is that the author is omniscient and each chapter is based on a single character and it all revolves around the point of view of the person and his affairs. But the thing that impressed me the most in the books are the descriptions and the attention to every single detail in every single passage of the book that make you feel like the character and really immersed in that world.Moreover we can find a lot of scenes and part of the show  that refers to historical facts that happened in the past, like the War of the two roses in England, that is the neverended battle between the Starks and the Lannisters.

But the thing that let most of the people know the Game of thrones world , was the homonymous Tv show that went on the screen in 2011. From the very beginning a lot of people start seeing it, also because the plot is something extraordinary and also the special effects are awesome. Moreover people are also fascinated by the story that is always changing and also plenty of duels, mystery , love stories , dragons and battles between families. For this reason, since a lot of people were anxious about the series and the author requires a lot of time to write a single book, the directors of the tv show and George RR Martin agreed about publishing the final of the TV show before the end and the publication of the last book. Moreover, Game of Thrones was so much a success that the directors of the TV show decided to make a prequel that focused about the Targaryen’s family and I can’t wait to see it.

I personally think that for the reasons above that Game of Thrones is the best TV show and book series ever and I personally can’t wait for the publication of the next books and Prequel that i want to see with my family and friends.
